The Process
-
Prior to scheduling a 30 minute discover call, you will complete a design inquiry to start a more meaningful conversation about the project goals and objectives.
-
After I receive your design inquiry, I will send you an invite to schedule a 30 minute Zoom call. We will have a conversation about your business, discuss the project and see if we are a great fit to partner.
-
Post discovery call you will receive a detailed proposal outlining the project deliverables, pricing and approximate timeline. If you accept the proposal and decide to move forward, I will send you a contract for electronic signature and your first invoice to book the project and reserve your spot on my calendar.
Most website designs can be completed in a 2-week period if I have all of your site content by the start date.
-
If I am helping you with your branding, we explore your brand ethos to select color palette and typography. I provide a design mood board for your approval. This sets the design tone and is the first step in the process.
If you already have a logo and color palette, I will find complementary fonts for the website unless those were included in your branding package.
-
At this stage after the brand direction is approved by you, I will begin brainstorming the website design, and researching competitors. If you chose to add copywriting assistance for SEO as an add-on, I will use my resources to analyze research keywords used in your industry to organically incorporate into your website text. I refer to this as “light” keyword research.
-
Perhaps the most critical step on your end is organizing the content for your website by the project start date. The content drives the layout and design so it is crucial that this is delivered to me on time to not delay the project.
Feeling overwhelmed at where to start? No worries! I will provide you with helpful guides to work from, and we will agree on a mutually convenient start date to allow you ample time to gather what we need to start the project.
-
After all revisions have been made, I complete the final step where I set up your back end SEO and add ALT text to photos and imagery.
-
We hit the publish button and review your site on various screen sizes to ensure optimized. At this stage I provide 1 week of post launch onboarding support as well as a helpful website guide so you can navigate your site with ease.

Design is an important investment for any business and you might be wondering how I come up with my pricing. Here is some insight into what factors can impact the cost of design and what to think about when viewing quotes from designers:
Time:
Design takes time. For each concept I present, there are hours of experimenting and testing that occur behind the scenes in order to discover the best solutions for your business. With my pricing, I have to account for all of the time and detail I put into each project.
On my website I have the verbiage “Investment starting at” due to the fact that each website is customized to the needs of the business. Some are more straight forward in nature with only 4 pages and others require more in-depth form creation or integrations.
Experience:
My years of experience working with small to mid-sized businesses results in a website design based on strategy. I act as your creative partner and project manager to bring your business alive online. I provide more than just a website and am aware of how my experience and skill matches up within the industry. I make sure to price myself fairly while still asking for what I know is appropriate.
Value:
Design can have a big impact on your business – from building stronger connections with your audience to increasing revenue. Whatever you invest in this project, I expect you to have the opportunity to make that investment back and then some. That value and potential impact is reflected in my pricing.
-
Yes, I will take clients on retainer in some cases if you anticipate having the need for regular site updates. I limit the number of clients in order to ensure a smooth and positive experience for all.
-
For the most part yes. However, I will occasionally take on a project in Wix or Shopify. I have found that Squarespace serves the majority of my clients very well. However, for e-commerce stores that have many products, Shopify is usually the best platform. I will also occasionally design in Square/Weebly based on the needs of the business. It is best to discuss your options on a Discovery Call as every business is unique.
If you like my work and have a site on another platform, please complete a design inquiry to start a conversation to discuss the possibility of working together. This is the first step if you are interested in booking a discovery call.
